2015 SubJunior World Powerlifting Rankings

(Last Update MARCH 20, 2015)

Our new addition for 2015 will be SubJunior World Powerlifting Rankings! We are throwing these rankings out with no idea where this will lead us. We did not track international lifters last year, but we will start tracking them from now on.

What is a SubJunior?

International competitions related to age categories are based on the YEAR OF BIRTH by the lifter. During 2015 international competitions the four birth years of 1997, 1998, 1999, & 2000 are classified as SUBJUNIORS.

Note: The Junior division years are 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, & 1996.

Note #2: International weight classes are different than High School weight classes.

Who is included?

We have only included lifters whose birth years have been validated. There are several really great lifters that you see in our composite rankings that are not in the world rankings. Those lifters are either born in 1996 and are still powerlifting in High School or we do not know the year of  their birth. This list only includes equipped lifters (at this time).

Changes to the rankings are coming. Why?

1. We periodically make contact with new lifters and find out they are a SubJuniors.
2. We are not yet aware of new body weights and weight classes for most returning lifters.
3. We will release individual weight class rankings (after Russian Nationals).
4. We will be expanding the composite list to a minimum of 25 lifters in coming weeks.

Updates to rankings.

There will not be as many updates to the rankings (as we do with National Rankings). However, here are the major competitions that we will be watching, and we should see major moves after them. Subscribe to our free newsletter and we will send you an email when the are updated.
